About Us

The East Texas Substance Abuse Coalition is a group of citizens concerned with youth in our community, especially those whose lives are impacted by drug and alcohol abuse. We are parents,  people of faith, counselors, business people, educators, healthcare workers, prevention specialists and government workers, united by our hopes and concerns for young people, all working together to reduce the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs in our area. Our vision is to create a community where youth can grow up free of substance abuse.

Goals for the Upcoming Year

  • Collaborate with Law Enforcement/TABC to complete alcohol compliance checks.
  • Kick off our Adolescent Brain Development educational norms campaign.
  • Launch a Parental Support/Educational organization to assist East Texas parents with raising their children.
  • Engage the community in a town hall meeting.
  • Increase active coalition membership.
  • Engage additional community members in supporting East Texas youth to thrive and become productive adults.
